Charleston Chamber CEO Bryan Derreberry: Chamber Relocating to a New Phase in GARCo Park

Friday, March 22nd, 2019

We are excited to announce that we will be relocating to a new phase in GARCo Park, in Park Circle, in June 2020. The new facility will offer our members a centralized location to connect, collaborate and inspire. The area will exude energy and vibrancy, creating a place for members and staff to convene and collaborate as well as serving as a catalyst for business.

“This new location will greatly enhance the Chamber’s ability to serve its membership through its centralized location in our region, ease of access from multiple major highways, available parking and surrounding amenities," said Marc Marchant, Principal, Charleston Office Leader, LS3P Associates LTD. "The new office integrates best practices for the design of 21st century office work space, and includes both flexible meeting space for the membership and a new boardroom to accommodate large meetings and other events.”

The Chamber will be located on the first and second floors of the Phase III Building, which is scheduled to break ground in Spring 2019. GARCo Park will also include Ingevity’s new headquarters and the renovated GARCo Mill, both of which are already under construction. The three buildings will share a one-acre landscaped park, complimenting the lively community of retail shops, restaurants and entertainment.

"I am tremendously excited about this new location as it is a great fit for the Charleston Metro Chamber. We have members throughout our tri-county region and having this central location is key. It also underscores our efforts to reduce commute times and traffic congestion," says Melonie Hammond-Trace, Chairman of the Charleston Metro Chamber Board. "Chamber staff will have the ability to walk to services needed during the work day and it is close to the planned Lowcountry Rapid Transit line, providing an alternate mode of transportation."

To evaluate and choose a location, the Chamber formed a Building Task Force which included Melonie Hammond-Trace, Tideline CPA Group; Mark Lattanzio, SunTrust Bank; Patrick Bryant, Bidr; Marc Marchant, LS3P; and Bryan Derreberry, Charleston Metro Chamber. Lee & Associates Charleston represented the Chamber in the leasing of the building.

"We are extremely excited the Charleston Metro Chamber chose GARCo Park over many other locations in the Metro area. It further solidifies our belief that North Charleston and, in particular, the Park Circle area is a great office location.  It is a true Live/Work/Play environment that we believe fits what many organizations and employees are seeking," said Jay Weaver, President, Weaver Capital Partners.

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to operate in such an energetic and growing area of our region and the opportunity to provide our members the accessibility and connectivity GARCo Park offers.
