MUSC Ranked State's No. 1 Hospital Sixth Year in a Row

Gov. Henry McMaster Takes Additional Action to Slow Virus Spread

Gov. Henry McMaster announced that all previously recommended guidelines for restaurants and other establishments that attract groups of people are now mandatory. The governor’s Executive Order establishing these new measures will go into effect Monday, August 3.

S.C. Sees Unemployment Claims Decline
July 31, 2020
For claim week ending July 25, 2020, the number of South Carolinians who filed their initial claim for unemployment insurance benefits is 12,194, a decrease of 2,152 initial claims from the week prior. This brings the initial claims total to 697,619 received since mid-March.

HGTC, USC Partnership for Teacher Education

Horry-Georgetown Technical College and the University of South Carolina recently signed an articulation agreement between the colleges establishing a teacher education transfer agreement. After completing the two-year degree at HGTC, aspiring teachers will be able to transfer to USC to earn a bachelor’s degree from the College of Education in just two years.

Habitat for Humanity is Masking a Difference across South Carolina
