First Reliance Bank Celebrates 21st Anniversary with "Random Acts of Kindness" Across Community
Monday, August 31st, 2020
First Reliance Bank celebrated its 21st anniversary by finding unique ways to give back to fellow community members across its six major market areas on Thursday, August 20 and Friday, August 21. The Florence-based community bank, which has grown to 10 locations in the Carolinas since its 1999 founding, designated funds for local ‘random acts of kindness’ to commemorate the special day – and the feel-good results proved There’s More to Banking than Money® for the organization.
The Mt. Pleasant branch joined the rest of the bank locations across the Carolinas in identifying fun and meaningful ways to spend the money locally. The Charleston-area team in particular surprised the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Mt. Pleasant Fire Station 3, and the staff at Carolina Voyager Charter School with over 30 lunches, which were prepared by loyal First Reliance customer and local restaurant, Adam’s Kitchen.
The companywide giving event took place the same week the community bank was recognized as a Best Place to Work in SC for the 15th year in a row – an honor the organization does not take for granted.
“At the end of the day, our company is powered by the people we serve. It felt fitting to celebrate them as we commemorate 21 wonderful years,” said First Reliance Bank CEO & President Rick Saunders. “As we continue to invest in our branch communities, and make a home in new ones throughout the region, I hope we’ve started a tradition that will last at least another 21 years.”
The growing bank is preparing to open its newest branch at the end of the month in Lake Norman, N.C. Stay tuned for news on the latest location and other happenings within First Reliance Bank here. Images from the celebration in Mt. Pleasant can be accessed here.
