Charleston-Based Atlantic Intermodal Services Relocates to Larger Headquarters Due to Business Growth

Friday, October 9th, 2020

Atlantic Intermodal Services recently moved its Charleston offices from a leased location at 2500 Clements Ferry Road to a free-standing facility the company purchased at 2516 Clements Ferry Road. Significant growth in business and its customer base prompted AIS to begin searching for a larger facility last year. In fact, AIS has experienced a 35% growth in business in the Charleston market just since January.

“We outgrew our current offices and yard but wanted to stay in close proximity to our current location as we are equidistant from the North Charleston and Wando ports,” says Jeff Banton, AIS president. “Our new facility offers many efficiencies for our team members and our customers, not the least of which is having our offices and yard at the same location.”

AIS’ new facility features upgraded security and technology, 3,500 square feet of office space and a 24/7, secure, four-acre yard that easily accommodates AIS’ growing staff and truck count.

“Our new facility has already proven to be a sound investment,” says Banton. “Our employees are excited – and we have the capacity to strategically grow our team and customer base.”

AIS was recently named one of the Top 20 Fastest Growing Companies by SC Biz News.

“This award is an incredible honor for us,” says Banton. “It gets the attention of customers because it tells them we are doing something right.”

Atlantic Intermodal Services is part of the IMC Companies national family of brands that also includes DNJ Intermodal Services (DNJ), Gulf Intermodal Services (GIS), H&M Intermodal, IMC Chassis Services (ICS), Intermodal Cartage Company (IMCG), Ohio Intermodal Services (OIS) and Pacific Drayage Services (PDS).
