Incumbent Worker Training Program Funding Available
Friday, February 23rd, 2018
For employers looking to both keep up in a changing marketplace and invest in current employees, SC Works Trident is offering Incumbent Worker Training Assistance through the Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Act.
The Federal IWT program reimburses employers between 50 and 90 percent of shared training costs, depending on the number of those currently employed.
“Incumbent Worker Training is a great opportunity for companies to enhance the skills of their existing workers,” said SC Works Trident Regional Manager Keidrian Kunkel. “The program helps cover required training costs for the employer while retaining a competitive workforce for their company.”
Private-sector employers must be located in Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester counties and be in need of training for incumbent workers due to: expansion and changing skill requirements caused by new technology, retooling, new product lines or new organizational restricting.
New requirements are outlined in this year’s application, including qualifications to classify as an incumbent worker, business matching and application priority. View the 2018 IWT Application for details.
