Marvin Taylor to Serve as Interim Principal of Edmund A. Burns Elementary

Charleston County School District is proud to announce and welcome Marvin Taylor as interim Principal of Edmund A. Burns Elementary. Taylor has served as Assistant Principal at the school since 2014.
Taylor is a native of Charleston and a graduate of the elite Call ME Mister program. In 2009, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from South Carolina State University with an emphasis in Elementary Education. Upon graduating, he began his career teaching fourth grade at North Charleston Elementary School. Taylor received his master’s degree in Administration from Capella University in 2012.
During his career, Taylor has received several accolades including the Innovation Zone Closing the Achievement Gap Award, and was named the North Charleston Elementary School Teacher of the Year. He serves as a youth mentor and counselor in his local community and is passionate about service and uplifting those around him.
Taylor will transition to his new role in July 2018.
