Mark Connors Named Principal at Harbor View Elementary

Charleston County School District is proud to announce Mark Connors as the principal of Harbor View Elementary. Connors has been serving as interim principal since December 2017.

Connors began his career as a kindergarten teacher in Novi, Michigan. Shortly after, Connors joined CCSD at North Charleston Elementary where he spent the next seven years working as a third and fourth grade teacher, and as a master reading teacher and instructional coach. Connors furthered his coaching role by becoming a personalized learning coach for the district in 2013 where he designed and implemented a personalized learning framework at Angel Oak Elementary. During his role as a PL coach, Connors created and implemented professional development to promote personalized learning, implemented teacher goal-setting and personalized feedback for teachers, and coached teachers to improve instruction in the classroom. Connors left his role as a PL coach in 2015 to become the assistant principal at Harbor View.

Connors holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Michigan State University, and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from The Citadel. Connors is also COT and CPI certified, a CERTA South Carolina trained mentor, an ASPIRE Program Cohort member, a PBIS Leadership Team member, a TOPS Platinum CCSD Teacher, and was named the 2007 Rookie Teacher of the Year for North Charleston Elementary.
