Northwoods Middle has been awarded a $5,000 Teaching Tolerance grant. The grant-funded project will build empathy and cultural understanding among students through slam poetry and narrative story exchange. Zoe Roff, Northwoods Middle math teacher, applied for the grant. Aimee Herring, CCSD ESOL teacher, will assist with the project.

These projects will focus on improving school climate, responding to and preventing incidents of hate, or embedding the concepts found in the Teaching Tolerance Social Justice Standards into the school- or district-wide curriculum.
