Thomas & Hutton Announces New Charleston Hires

Thomas & Hutton is pleased to announce the following new hires in its Charleston office.
Marcus Balitsaris, PE joined Thomas & Hutton’s Civil Engineering team as a Designer. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, and Management from Clemson University. Balitsaris comes to Thomas & Hutton with four years of previous experience and will assist with developing site development construction drawings and engineering design considerations for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Joe Cook joined Thomas & Hutton’s Structural Engineering team as a Designer. Cook holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from The Citadel and will assist the Structural Department on a number of projects.
Will Hay, Jr., PE joined Thomas & Hutton’s Civil Engineering team as a Project Engineer. He is a graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Hay is a licensed Professional Engineer in South Carolina and his duties include overseeing infrastructure design projects. He has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, 379 air Expeditionary Wing Team of the Quarter, and the 662nd Civil Engineer Group Company Grade Officer of the Year.
Kayla Kernich joined Thomas & Hutton’s Water Resources Engineering team as a Designer. Kernich graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering with an emphasis on Ecological Engineering. Her experience includes working for a Health, Safety, and Environment Co-op with Robert Bosch, LLC. Kayla assists the Water Resources Department on a variety of stormwater projects.
Eric Pinto, EIT joined Thomas & Hutton’s Structural Engineering Team as a Designer. Pinto is a graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree from The Citadel in Structural Engineering and is preparing to take the exam for professional licensure. He has ten years of experience working with 4SE. Pinto is an Engineer-in-Training and his duties include assisting the Structural Department on a number of projects.
Ned Taylor joined Thomas & Hutton’s Civil Engineering team as a Designer. He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University with experience including internships at a heavy-civil contracting company for concrete/grout quality control for an FAA runway extension project and a civil forensic engineering firm. Taylor assists with developing site development construction drawings and engineering design considerations for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
