Charleston County Greenbelt Advisory Board Subcommittee Meeting to Review Applications

The Subcommittee of the Charleston County Greenbelt Advisory Board (GAB) will meet Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting is open to the public, and will be held at the Lonnie Hamilton, lll Public Services Building, 4045 Bridge View Drive, North Charleston.

The Subcommittee is a six-member committee appointed by the GAB to review, evaluate, and make recommendations to the GAB regarding applications for funding. The Subcommittee will review nine applications (six Urban Projects and three Rural Projects) consisting of 124 acres and totaling $13.8 million.

On March 4, 2020, the Subcommittee will review four Urban Projects requesting funds from the urban unincorporated allocation. These projects total $11 million to purchase 86 acres for urban parks and greenspace.

Subcommittee meetings to review the remaining projects will be held as follows:

Wednesday, March 11 at 9:00 a.m.

Wednesday, March 18 at 9:00 a.m.

All meetings will be open to the public, and will be held at the Lonnie Hamilton lll Public Services Building, 4045 Bridge View Drive, North Charleston.

Funding for the Greenbelt Programs is through the Charleston County Transportation (“Half-Cent”) Sales Tax.
