Thomas & Hutton is pleased to announce Corey Balenger as our newest licensed Professional Engineer in South Carolina. After passing the exam last year, Balenger completed his experience requirements. The eight-hour civil examination consists of areas such as construction, geotechnical, structural, transportation, water resources, and environmental.

Balenger joined the Thomas & Hutton Charleston’s office in February 2016 as a designer in our Civil Department and has four years of experience in the field. He received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Balenger’s current projects include residental site development projects in Summers Corner, including civil design at the Summers Lakes subdivision, water and sewer masterplans for the region to facilitate wastewater pump station locations, design of the northern extension of Clay Field trail, and the SCDOT turn lane for the Summers Lakes entrance.

While at the Thomas & Hutton’s Myrtle Beach office, Balenger worked on the Belle Harbor roundabout and pumpstations at Wren Bay, Longview, and Belle Harbor.
